In the summary meeting of the free English class at District 5, Ngoc Tran, a student who has a very special difficult circumstance was given a bicycle to go to school by Ms Pham Thi Van – a member of Volunteer House Vietnam.

Nguyen Ha Ngoc Tran, who is 14 years old, is one of the students of free English class in district 5. She had to cancel her studying after finishing grade 3. She said :”When I was studying in grade 3,  my parent didn’t have enough money for me to continue my studying. As a result, I had to leave school to help my parents do their business. My father is a shipper, and my mother is still an unemployment…”

It is said that Ngoc Tran has 3 younger brothers, but they do not have chances to study in grade 3, to be literate like Tran.

Through the process of teaching English to children here, Ms Pham Thi Van, who is member of VHV, knows the difficult circumstances of every kids. As a result, she has spent her time on convincing Tran’s family, prepared all the documents necessary for Ngoc Tran to go to school.

Ngọc Tran said : “Recently, Ms Van comes to my home to tutor me two times per week, she not only teaches me Mathematics and Literature in grade 4 but also helps my brothers how to read and write”.

In the summary meeting of free English class in district 5, Van has offered Ngoc Tran some school stationeries such as pens, notebooks, books and a bicycle in order for her studying to become easier.
